Several centuries ago, Izmailovo belonged to the patrimonial lands owned by members of the royal family of the Romanovs. When the father of Peter I, the Russian Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, ruled, Izmailovo was located far beyond the borders of Moscow.
The Tsar loved to hunt in the local forests and kept a whole farm in his country estate. On the banks of the small river Serebryanka and the ponds, there were craft workshops, an apiary, a large menagerie and manufactories that produced flax, bricks and glass. In Izmailovo, young Peter found an old English boat, and he had a dream to build a powerful Russian fleet.

In the 1970s, Izmailovo turned into a popular street opening day. On the outskirts of the green park, artists exhibited their work, and artisans sold crafts and souvenirs. Coming to Izmailovo, Muscovites could buy paintings, designer ceramics, jewelry, antiques and rare books.
They tried to equip the territory on which the Kremlin now flaunts several times. The city authorities wanted to implement several projects. At first, they planned to build a hotel complex here, then - a base for rehearsals for the dancers of the Beryozka dance ensemble. But for financial reasons, these plans never came to fruition.
At the end of the 1990s, an artistic Vernissage began to be built in Izmailovo, the project of which included a church, shopping arcade and an exhibition. However, in 2005 there was a big fire and the flames destroyed a significant part of the buildings. After that, the architectural complex had to be rebuilt, and a beautiful palace complex in the style of a Russian courtyard arose in Izmailovo.

The picturesque architectural ensemble was built in the traditions of pre-Petrine architecture and makes a great impression on adults and children.
