As soon as the first snowflakes appear outside the windows of Russians, and the thermometer inexorably moves down, many think about how to while away the winter days somewhere on the sunny coast of an exotic resort. Often, the choice falls on Vietnam, which offers quite decent conditions for a winter vacation for a modest price. Let's figure out whether it is worth spending money on buying a ticket to an Asian country, and what the weather will be like in Vietnam in January.
Immediately, we note that a good rest depends on which part of the country you decide to go to. Although a stable dry season is observed throughout the entire territory in January, the air temperature in some regions will not be conducive to good rest. Therefore, we immediately advise you to choose one of the southern resorts of Vietnam, the air and water temperature in which practically does not differ from the climate in the summer months.
Northern regions
The northern provinces in January cannot attract tourists with their climatic conditions. It is worth going here only if you are not looking for a beach holiday and you can easily do without a bronze tan. Winter holidays in this part of the country can appeal to those who like to spend time sightseeing and visiting all kinds of excursions. This will be favored by the low level of precipitation.
The cities located in the northern part of the country are often covered by the period of this summer, when the air temperature warms up to 30 degrees. Although such happiness will not last long, it will still work out to diversify your excursion tourism with an excellent beach vacation. The exception is mountainous areas, for example, Shape, in which the temperature of January air only occasionally exceeds 5-6 degrees Celsius.
Central part of the country
In the central regions of Vietnam (Da Nang, Hoi An), the transition from a wet to a dry period is only completing this month. Often the mood of tourists is spoiled by typhoons and torrential rains, immediately after which a gentle sun appears in the sky. The average thermometer readings are from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, and the fairly warm sea water attracts swimmers to their possessions.
At the same time, not every tourist spends time on the beaches. Only occasionally does the weather allow you to experience all the delights of a beach holiday.
Southern resorts
But in the southern part of the country, all conditions have been created for a good rest. Precipitation falls here very rarely, and the air warms up to a very comfortable temperature, allowing you to combine swimming, sunburn and tourist excursions. Take, for example, Nha Trang, which our compatriots love to pamper with their attention so much. The air temperature during daylight and dark is practically the same, but occasionally a short rain can spoil the reputation of the resort. Storms are also very rare during this period.
It will be even warmer in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne, where the air warms up a couple of degrees more. It is the local coasts that can give you that beach holiday that you have dreamed of so much! We also advise you to pay attention to the nearby Phu Quoc Island, which in January is simply teeming with tourists tired from long winter evenings.
As you can see, the weather in Vietnam in January is quite conducive to a great vacation. Depending on the region, tourists can choose between dry and warm south and cool but equally attractive resorts in the north. Do not forget to check the weather for the coming days before your flight and customize your spa wardrobe accordingly.
